The 19th. of October, river Glomma!
Sun
all day and from 3 p.m. small black
stoneflies (Capnia pygmea) started
"skittering" across the surface.
Friends Bjørn and Bjørn joined me for fun
dry fly
fishing.
The beginning of October, river Glomma!
Sun
from mid day on, and small stoneflies started "skittering"
across the surface.
Superb dry fly action! Only 6 degrees in water now.
September and October are the best months of year for fly
fishing; bright colours, bright sun light, crisp air, no
mosquitoes
and all the rising grayling for myself!
Testing the brand new Marco fly reel; The Traveller
Kit with 4 sizes of spools.
The very end of September, river Glomma!
Sun
all day and in the middle of day, those small blue dun wings
appeared as sails on the surface.
Soon the river showed how many grayling that were present! One
day close to a fly fisherman's dream.
Again, hatching of Emphemerella ignita, gave me probably the
best day of fishing this season.
The experience also was enhanced by that this day I was
fishing with my Pandion 8' #4 split cane rod!
End of September, river Glomma!
Many grayling on dry fly
in good weather conditions. Variation on one basic pattern
have given me 90%
of all fish on dries this year. The series of flies are shown
at this
link
Capnia Pygmea size 16
Emphemerella ignita size 14
Middle of September,
river Folla!
Perfect weather and a
number of really good grayling on dry fly!
End of August ,
River Orkla!
Perfect end of the salmon
season that this magnificent fish took my fly, but sorry I had
to kill him!
Fishing alone, I had to beach the fish and then the salmon got
harmed and the best thing was to put him to rest.
Length 101 cm, girth 49cm!
End of July/August,
River Vestre Jakobselv
Terrible conditions 3-4
degrees in air, 5-6 in river and hard northerly wind!
Hard to get the grilse take unweighted flies on floating line;
the only alowed method. My friend Christer with a nice grilse
and me playing one below. Then friends gathered for some
sigars and whisky.
End of June ,
River Rena!
At last, the mayflies are
hatching and the big browns rising!
My overall best mayfly pattern shown at third picture.
Properly greased, it's a must to trick the browns!
May
2008,
several pike on popper!
Pike on popper fished
from my kayak in a flooded area of a
tributary of river Glomma.
The 3rd. of April 2008, the start of
a new season!
The
first grayling this year on dry fly! River Glomma.
Several good grayling rose and took my V-midges and Griffiths
Gnat,
Periods of good surface activity and grayling interested in
midges.
Saw big stoneflies too, but not on water.
V-midges(Terri Yamagishi), Knapek hook size 20

weather, -1,0 Celsius in the air and +2,0 in the water,

beautiful conditions and a couple of grayling released after
grabbing my micro nymph.
